The Gathering of Casting Instructors is on Sunday, October 19, 2025. This is an opportunity for all instructors, guides, CI candidates and Good Fly volunteers to spend a day sharpening their skills, instructing and casting under the tutelage of this year's world class Gathering Cadre.

Schedule:
8:00 AM – Registration, Coffee, Breakfast
8:30 AM – Program Introduction
9:00 AM – Morning Sessions
12:30 PM – Catered Lunch -- with discussion of Lesson Plan Development by CI Rex Walker
2:00 PM – Afternoon “Cast Around” or Good Fly Certification
4:00 PM – Gathering Wrap-Up
*Access to the lake is available before and after sessions.
Continuing Education Track
This track is designed for seasoned instructors — MCIs, CIs, and those in an instructing profession, such as guides or shop owners.
Morning instruction will consist of two structured sessions focused on improving individual casting and teaching skills – at the advanced level.
After lunch, track participants will participate in a “cast around” to improve individual casting and instruction skills. The “cast around” provides a unique opportunity for an informal casting session and Q&A with the Gathering Cadre.
Good Fly Certified Track
This track is for those who instruct, or plan to instruct, at Good Fly workshops, and for those on their journey to Certified Casting Instructor. The track is designed to help you become a better instructor for beginner and intermediate casters
—like those we work with in Good Fly first responder workshops.
Morning instruction will focus on individual casting skills and standardized methods for demonstrating and teaching the Pick-Up-Lay-Down Cast, the False Cast and the Roll Cast.
After lunch, track participants may either test for the Good Fly Instructor Certificate or join the general “cast around.”
The 2025 Round Up After Party and Live Auction
Join us Saturday (the day before The Gathering) for the Round-Up Festival followed by a Casting Cup during Anglers and Ale Hour. The evening will end with the VIP Afterparty where we will have an exciting live auction, wood-fired pizza dinner, and a relaxing conversation as we watch the sun set over Lake Prescott! The activities after the Round-Up (ends at 2PM) are ticketed. The full cash bar opens at 2:30 and your ticket to Angler and Ale hour includes 2 drink tickets for beer, wine, or soda.
Dinner will be served at 5:30 with the live auction to follow. We have a great line up of items this year including curated fishing trips.
All proceeds benefit Good Fly.
